& Music Team Member
The Choral Director and Worship & Music Team Member is a 12-16 hour a week position with a competitive salary and paid time off.
Elim Lutheran Church, located in beautiful Scandia, MN is hiring a Choir Director and Worship & Music team member to help lead us in our vision to be “a place to boldly glorify God.”
Our growing community of worship participants encompasses young and old, Lutherans and non-Lutherans, some with long rich worship traditions and those with little or no tradition, those that desire formality and those that want a less formal experience, those who love the old hymns and the organ and those who like new songs and a variety of instruments. With this in mind, Elim Lutheran will seek to meet diverse worship needs in its effort to feed the souls of all who worship with us.
The Choir Director and Worship & Music team member will work in partnership with the pastor, staff and members in a supportive and faith-centered atmosphere with the goal of creating meaningful and enriching worship experiences. To do this we are seeking a person who has gifts and skills that include leadership, creative musicianship and musical performance. These skills will help the successful candidate create worship services that utilize our members’ talents and build upon our strong music tradition.
The successful candidate would possess proficiency on piano, be familiar with other instruments such as organ, guitar, percussion, strings and others, and have a willingness to incorporate any or all as appropriate.
Scandia, Minnesota is a growing community of over 4,000 and is a gateway to the scenic Saint Croix river valley. Located just 30 miles northeast of the Twin Cities, the area and offers a wealth of recreational and cultural opportunities, and has easy access to metro area.
