Pastor Seth PerryPastor, Elim Lutheran Church

Seth Perry is an ELCA pastor at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia, Minnesota, committed to reducing mental health stigma within faith communities. As a recovering addict living with bipolar disorder, Seth openly shares his dual diagnosis to challenge stigma in church institutions. His advocacy reaches beyond his congregation to the St. Paul Area Synod, where he frequently speaks from his lived experience while facilitating keynotes and workshops.
Seth founded Our Stigma, a ministry project focused on breaking mental health stigmas in faith communities. He also serves on the Washington |
County Opioid Settlement Council and is a board member at Shobi’s Table, an organization dedicated to food security, racial equity, and social justice. Additionally, he contributes as a columnist for The Phoenix Spirit and contributes for Cadre, a mental health social network.
In partnership with Good Faith Media, Seth’s podcast, Our Stigma, explores mental health and addiction in spiritual communities. Sponsored by M Health Fairview and the Washington County Opioid the podcast will launch in May 2025, accompanied by a study resource for small groups focused on developing grassroots mental health outreach.
With a MDiv and a BFA in Film Production, Seth combines theological and artistic expertise to create stigma-free spaces for recovery.
